The video was recorded by an intern at a private daycare in Torrejón de Ardoz. In it, the caregiver shakes and hits a baby, forcing him to eat forcefully. Just yesterday, that caregiver left the center nervous and upset with the press.
This Thursday, after Telemadrid released the video showing abuse towards babies at a daycare in Torrejón de Ardoz, sent by a practicum worker at the center, a team from the program ‘Y ahora, Sonsoles’ from Antena 3 tried to speak with one of the caregivers arrested by the police.

In the video, the caregiver can be seen, visibly agitated and with a threatening attitude. «Can we talk?» – the journalist asks her – «No, I’ve been fired, you’ve already achieved it, leave me alone!» she responds.

The reporter asks her again why she was fired, if it was because of the video, she responds almost in tears: «No, it’s because they’re going to remove all the children from the daycare because of your damn fault. Do you understand?» «Now I’m on the street – she adds – and I have two daughters to support and a mortgage to pay,» laments the daycare worker.

After insisting on knowing her reaction after the video was published on Telemadrid, the woman stops, drops the bags she was carrying, and comes back: «Bunch of scoundrels! That’s what you are! Leave me alone because I’m going to call the police!» she finishes by quickly walking away.
RELEASED ON BAIL WITH RESTRICTIVE MEASURES AFTER TESTIFYING BEFORE THE JUDGE
This morning, the two caregivers from the daycare in Torrejón de Ardoz were arrested for alleged mistreatment and possible moral integrity offenses. The center’s director and another employee were also arrested for not preventing these behaviors.
After testifying before the judge of the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Torrejón de Ardoz, the judge decided this afternoon to grant release on bail with restrictive measures for the two employees arrested for abuse and for two other employees for not reporting the incidents.
The four women are initially under investigation for the alleged commission of a degrading treatment offense, an offense of physical abuse, and, alternatively, a habitual abuse offense.
As restrictive measures, the judge has ordered that the four individuals must sign in at the court’s headquarters on the first of each month, as well as prohibiting them from engaging in any paid or unpaid work related to minors.
PARENTS’ COMPLAINTS
On the other hand, complaints continue to pour into the police station in Torrejón. Several parents suspect that their babies have been subjected to abusive treatment after seeing these images. One of the mothers, Nancy, believes that her daughter has experienced the same and no longer wants to eat: «We can’t sleep from thinking about my daughter’s reactions…from the moment I took her there, she had trouble eating»

The incidents allegedly occurred at the Cascanueces nursery school, located at 1 Río Pelayo Street in Torrejón, where several parents have filed complaints after viewing a recording made by a practicum student who alerted to the caregiver’s behavior.

The Community of Madrid offers help to enroll children in other centers after the alleged mistreatment of babies at the daycare in Torrejón
Today the daycare remains closed. Several parents of the young students have already consulted with lawyers to file complaints. The Community of Madrid has opened an investigation into the center and will provide placements for the children in other nursery schools as many parents do not want their children to return there ever again.
Meanwhile, the police continue to gather data and investigate to clarify all the details of the case.
