Individuals holding the senior card can enjoy free events at the Municipal Theater José María Rodeo in Torrejón.
The City Council will distribute free invitations this Friday from 10:00 to 14:00 to celebrate the Week of the Elderly.
To obtain one of the invitations, it is essential to present the senior card and a maximum of two shows per person can be acquired.
The shows available at the municipal theater will include ‘Zarzuelas and Flamenco, a legacy in Hispanoamerica’ on Monday, May 12 at 8:00 pm; the theater and dance ‘Flight 2025 Journey to the Past’ on Thursday, May 14 at 8:00 pm; ‘I’ll Get Off at the Next Stop. And you?’ Tribute to Concha Velasco on Friday, May 16; and the copla show ‘Roots and Passions’ on Saturday, May 17 at 8:00 pm.

Also noteworthy is the free performance of Los Brincos, taking place on Sunday, May 18 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm at the Nuria Fernández Pavilion in the Joaquín Blume Sports City.
Before that, at 1:00 pm, the traditional free distribution of paella will be held; at 12:00 pm there will be a concert by Manuel de Segura and until 5:00 pm music and dance.
Invitations for this day will be distributed starting Monday, May 12 at the Elderly Department and at the senior centers in the city.
Additionally, on Saturday, May 17, from 12:30 to 1:30 pm, ‘Torrejón deserves a chotis’, the show ‘Long Live San Isidro’, presented by the Lyrical Group of Torrejón de Ardoz will take place. That day there will also be a distribution of carnations.
Gymnastics, dance, and music
Likewise, the activity ‘Gymnastics for All and Healthy Breakfast’, which will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, May 13 at the Veredillas Park and on Wednesday, May 14 at the Rosario Park; the awards ceremony of the second billiards championship (May 13 at the Elderly Center on Madrid Avenue at 12:00 pm) and the paper carnation workshop (May 15 at the Atocha Lawyers Multipurpose Center from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm).
Other highlighted activities will be ‘Seniors on Stage’, a showcase of dance and music with the participation of students from the Elderly Department workshops at the Las Fronteras Cultural Center on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 pm, or the talk ‘Smile at life: feel and think positive’, scheduled for May 16 at 12:00 pm at the Atocha Lawyers Multipurpose Center.

There will also be the organization of a roundtable ‘Living with Tranquility: economic keys to live without worries’.
Furthermore, on Tuesday, May 27, the Municipal Theater José María Rodero will host the Concert of the National Police Symphonic Band.
«We encourage all seniors in our city to participate in the free activities that we have organized for them with great care from the City Council, as this group is very important to us,» stated the Mayor of Torrejón, Alejandro Navarro Prieto.
The Councilor for Seniors and Volunteering, Ana Verónica González, highlighted that the City Council offers seniors «a wide range of initiatives to improve their quality of life, such as outings and excursions, spa programs, courses, and workshops.»
