The Local Police of Torrejón de Ardoz rescued two individuals with functional diversity who became disoriented on the banks of the Henares River as it passes through the city on Wednesday.

The two rescued men are 51 and 44 years old, and due to the high water flow in the river these days, a comprehensive security and emergency operation was deployed to locate the two individuals, who were in phone contact with the agents.

Based on the information provided by one of the individuals over the phone, they were located in the Barrio del Castillo and Parque Europa areas, with reports indicating that one of them may have fallen into the water, as stated by the Torrejón City Council in a press release.

Several units of the Local Police, a team of firefighters with a zodiac boat, Civil Protection, the municipal ambulance, and a patrol car from the National Police were dispatched to the location.

The police located the two individuals in the vegetation, in a difficult access area, who were in good health.

At the time they were found, the two men were at the riverbank with water up to their ankles, at risk of being swept away by the strong current and visibly frightened.

According to the City Council, the two men were discharged on-site and transported to their residence in the city.
