Las Fiestas Populares de Torrejón de Ardoz se consolidan como las mejores de la Comunidad de Madrid

•    The Popular Festivities of Torrejón de Ardoz are established as the best in the Community of Madrid due to the quality of their large free concerts, their great Fair and Peñas venue, the Night of Fire, children’s activities, Nights in the Square, Day-Tardeo Fair, Peñas Parade, and for party enthusiasts, their Bullfighting Fair.

•    We have enjoyed top-notch concerts with the best artists from the national and international music scene, such as Dani Fernández, Nicky Jam, Melendi, Fangoria, Antoñito Molina, Melody, Pole, Mafalda Cardenal, or Jarabe de Palo, all of them free for the residents of Torrejón who downloaded their invitation online, thus avoiding the long lines in the street that had to be endured in previous years.

•    A municipality like ours has the economic capacity to do this, therefore, it must be a clear objective to promote culture and leisure to the residents of Torrejón, among other actions, inviting them to watch the best national and international singers and groups for free, allocating 2 million out of the 162.5 million euros that the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has per year, 1.2% of the annual budget. Leaving 160.5 million to address the rest of the city’s needs. By the way, 2 million that are partly financed with the income that the City Council receives from the fees paid by the fairground attractions of the Festivities.

•    Torrejón de Ardoz, as an open and inclusive city, welcomes residents from outside, who can also attend the concerts, but in a very limited capacity and paying for their ticket to cover the cost of the event.

•    Dani Fernández gave a memorable concert on Monday, June 23, possibly one of the best of his career. The singer is a reference in our country, becoming the pop-rock artist of the moment. His songs are the most listened to in our country, and many of them have become anthems for the public. On Spotify, the artist has accumulated 2.7 million streams. He has also been nominated and awarded in various music industry awards, such as the MTV Europe Music Awards, Los40 Music Awards, Ondas Awards, and Dial Awards, among others. In 2024, he returned to the scene with his new album «La Jauría», and in just a few months, the singles «Todo cambia», «Criminal», and «Me has invitado a bailar» have broken streaming records. The concert featured the pre-show animation of local DJs Omar The Kid, Raúl Sánchez, and Jorge Vaquero.

•    Nicky Jam performed on Sunday, June 22, in Torrejón de Ardoz, his only concert in Madrid on his 2025 world tour, with a spectacular show accompanied by 12 dancers. The American singer is one of the most important reggaeton artists in the world, known as the phoenix of urban music. In his long career, he has won numerous awards, including several prestigious Grammys and Billboards. His song «X» has accumulated over 2.5 billion streams. The concert had the surprise participation of Omar Courtz, a Puerto Rican singer and one of the main references in Latin urban music. Additionally, as the opening act for Nicky Jam, Panamanian DJ Dímelo Flow performed, who is one of the key figures in the new Latin pop, along with local DJs Rubi, Xema Fuentes, and Lollipop.

•    Melendi gave a magnificent concert on Tuesday, June 24, as the final touch to this edition of the Festivities. The most successful Spanish artist in 2024 has established himself as one of the most influential singers in Spanish music, and his songs appeal to multiple generations. In 2025, he is celebrating 20 years of a successful music career. The concert featured performances by Pole, Mafalda Cardenal, and the renowned Dream Team DJs.

•    On the other hand, Fangoria with the legendary Alaska delighted all fans of successful Spanish pop with their concert on Saturday, June 21, where they revisited their greatest hits in a highly visual show with careful staging.

•    Antoñito Molina, the emerging Spanish star with a style based on flamenco but with a sound closer to pop, performed on Friday, June 20. The concert had several magical moments, such as the collaboration of El Arrebato and Carolina Marín, Olympic and world badminton champion, who took to the stage, leaving her mark on the piano of the Cadiz-born artist. The opening act featured David Dcano with strong ties to Torrejón.

•    The Festivities closed with the traditional Night of Fire, a brilliant and sensational fireworks display that exceeded all expectations as the culmination of the celebrations.

•    In the Nights in the Square, the Eurovision artist Melody gave her first concert in Madrid after the Eurovision Song Contest, a show full of energy and good vibes. Previously, the players of the women’s soccer club Futbolellas, who recently achieved promotion to the second division, gave a speech. The Nights in the Square continued with a large orchestra for everyone to dance, with an emotional concert by the group Jarabe de Palo paying tribute to their lead singer Pau Dones and a tribute to the most important Mexican singer, Luis Miguel.

•    This year, as a novelty, a new night circular line was in service during the celebration of the Popular Festivities. Thus, from June 20 to 24, this new night circular line operated until 4:00 am to facilitate the transportation of residents attending the Fairground, with its closest stop being Plaza de España. This was the Circular Torrejón line 1B, which operated with two buses at a frequency of 30 minutes. Additionally, on Friday and Saturday nights, an additional bus was added to reduce the frequency to 20 minutes.

•    The little ones enjoyed Children’s Mornings at the Fairground with a foam party, children’s bull run, and water playgrounds. And in the Plaza Mayor with water playgrounds.

•    Once again, the Day-Tardeo Fair held on Saturday and Sunday was confirmed as a successful event, with great animation in the booths, concerts, activities, water playgrounds, giant water slide, lively atmosphere, brass bands, and drumming.

•    Other successful novelties at the Fair and Peñas venue were the new toilets on March Street and the covered awnings on Tapas Street and March Street, as well as the extension of the noise-free hours on Friday, Monday, and Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm for people with autism and auditory hypersensitivity.

•    For the second consecutive year, the eco-friendly and reusable green glass initiative distributed throughout the Fairground was a great success in contributing to environmental care by significantly reducing the waste generated at the venue.

•    Also worth mentioning is the excellent operation of the Purple and Rainbow Points where information was provided and awareness raised about municipal resources to prevent gender-based violence and promote respect for the LGBTQ+ community and diversity.

•    In the Bullfighting Fair, it is worth noting the good attendance at the Bullring, especially at the three bull runs (one at night and two during the day) and at the Bullfighting Contest. The triumphs of the Fair were Fernando Adrián, who arrived in Torrejón with the record of opening 22 consecutive large doors and also managed to leave through the Grand Door of the Torrejón bullring, as did in the rejoneo event, Lea Vincens and Guillermo Hermoso, who, with their brilliant performances, opened the Grand Door. It should be remembered that the young bullfighter, Víctor Hernández, suffered a goring in the bullfight on Saturday that caused a linear fracture in his skull, leading to his hospitalization, although fortunately, he is out of danger.

•    Finally, we want to express our sincere thanks to the peñas, associations, local and national police, Civil Protection volunteers, health services, municipal workers, and the Bullfighting Advisory Council for the tremendous work they have carried out. Thanks to all of them for their efforts, because without them, we would not have been able to enjoy our festivities.
