El alcalde supervisa avances en obras de Ronda Sur y Palacio de Justicia

The mayor, Alejandro Navarro Prieto, and the councilor of Urbanism and Housing, Víctor Miranda, have been monitoring the construction progress of two important infrastructures during this summer period. One of them is the start of the works for the 3rd and final phase of the Southern Ring Road, which will complete the route between the Loeches road and the Los Almendros Industrial Estate, and the other is the advanced state of construction of the new Courthouse on Constitution Avenue (plot next to Camino Real School).

Torrejón de Ardoz, September 25, 2024. This final section that will complete the Southern Ring Road is 995 meters long and will have four lanes of 3.5 meters each, two lanes per direction, a median of 1 meter, as well as a bike lane and a sidewalk for pedestrians of 3 meters with trees and lighting.

This 3rd phase, together with the previous 2 phases, will complete the Southern Ring Road and connect the Loeches road (Eiffel Tower Roundabout-Europa Park) with the Los Almendros Industrial Estate, up to the final roundabout of the Las Monjas Industrial Estate towards M45 and M50, duplicating and modifying the current layout of the Castillo neighborhood road. The execution period is 22 months and represents an investment of 9.29 million euros by the City Council.

This road infrastructure will benefit the entire southern area of the city, especially the neighborhoods of Fresnos, Rosario, Cañada, Parque Cataluña, Torrenieve, Castillo, San Benito, the new Aldovea neighborhood, Mancha Amarilla, and Soto Henares, among others.

The Courthouse has entered the final phase of its construction, with the development of the works being very advanced. It has over 11,000 square meters distributed over several floors, will have minimal energy consumption, being a sustainable construction with functional and fully accessible facilities for people with functional diversity. It represents an investment of 17.5 million euros by the Community of Madrid on Constitution Avenue (plot next to Camino Real School) and will group together all the city’s courts. It is a modern and innovative building that is being built on a plot of over 6,000 square meters located at Constitution Avenue number 188, which was provided by the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council.

This new major facility will house 14 courts, four of them reserved, as well as a duty court and will also be equipped with Civil Registry and wedding hall; Administrative units for citizen assistance and information (CIVITAS); Common Service of Communication Acts (SCAC); Offices for Assistance to Victims of Crimes (OAVD); Prosecutor’s Office, Forensic; Deanship; Procurators’ and Lawyers’ Colleges; Police station and other ancillary services.

«The start of the works for the closure of the Southern Ring Road is a very important step in the transformation of Torrejón de Ardoz. It will help alleviate the traffic density as it passes through our urban center, as the thousands of vehicles that pass through the M206, especially the heavy ones, will no longer cross our city. This will lead to an improvement in traffic on the Loeches road, Progreso square, M206-Luna Avenue, and Paz square-Las Monjas Industrial Estate roundabout,» highlighted Mayor Alejandro Navarro Prieto.

«It has been very gratifying to see the advanced state of construction of the new Courthouse that will start operating soon. This building will house the various judicial offices that are currently scattered throughout the city in one location, which will benefit the judiciary professionals, but above all the residents of Torrejón who will avoid unnecessary travel,» assessed Councilor of Urbanism and Housing, Víctor Miranda.
