The Carnival of Torrejón de Ardoz 2025 is here, which will be celebrated from today, Friday, February 28, to Sunday, March 2, with performances by King África, CantaJuego, Nika and Matsu, Discoguachi, Jorge Vaquero Dj, Children’s Costume Contest, the Grand Costume Parade, the Burial of the Sardine Parade, and the Popular Sardine Festival. An extensive and varied program of the Torrejón Carnival that shines more each year due to the quality of the musical performances and the participating costumes.
Torrejón de Ardoz, February 28, 2025. The Torrejón Carnival begins today, Friday, February 28, with a great children’s party in the Plaza Mayor where music for the little ones in the house will be the main protagonist, in addition to Children’s Parks. We will have, as is traditional, DiscoGuachi. Children’s Party with the Guachis – Come with your costume!” in a double session from 17:30 to 18:00 and from 19:50 to 20:30. And what can we say about our Guachis, children’s characters that have us in love and are another symbol of our Torrejón identity. But also, this year we have two great novelties that will delight the youngest in the house with the performance of CantaJuego (18:00), the best Spanish children’s musical group, and Nika and Matsu (19:00), a children’s duo that is succeeding with their songs.
Saturday:
The «little ones» continue to be the protagonists of our Carnival on Saturday, March 1 starting at 12 noon in the Plaza Mayor, with a morning that includes children’s parks and the competitive Children’s Costume Contest through which hundreds of children pass, presenting unique creations that showcase the originality and the time that moms and dads have dedicated.
In the afternoon, from 18:00 to 20:00, from Avenida de la Constitución to Plaza Mayor, is the moment that no one wants to miss, the Grand Costume Parade. The groups and associations show the public their creations and choreographies they have been preparing and keeping jealously for months to try to be the most original and fun. While the jury decides the winners, we will enjoy a musical evening livened up by King África (20:00) who will set the rhythm for us to dance and remember his great musical hits. Following that, the performance of the Torrejón DJ, Jorge Vaquero.
Sunday:
As a closing to this Carnival, the Burial of the Sardine. Once again, the associations and groups will parade on Sunday, March 2 at 12:00 in the Plaza de Toros, showing us their musical choreographies where rhythm and good humor are always protagonists. We can comfortably watch this time at the Plaza de Toros, with free entry until full capacity is reached. And we will bid farewell to the Carnival as it deserves, with a great sardine festival starting at 14:00 with the Popular Sardine Festival in front of the Plaza de Toros. Also, there will be an alternative children’s menu for the little ones.
The mayor expressed his gratitude to the 58 groups and associations participating in the Carnivals, indicating that «on many occasions we value the great associative fabric and groups that Torrejón de Ardoz has, but if there is a moment throughout the year where they are indispensable, it is during Carnival. Without their participation, effort, audacity, and joy, our Carnival would not have one of the most impressive costume parades in the Community of Madrid, enjoyed by thousands of attendees during its route and, of course, the city would not have the colorful and good humor it displays during these days. These words serve as recognition.»
Another novelty this year is the improvement of the prizes, increasing their amount. There will be 10 direct prizes for the top 10 in each category.
