For many families, the summer months pose a real challenge when it comes to balancing their work life with their children’s vacations. Aware of this, the City Council of Torrejón, through the Department of Education, has once again launched a wide summer program aimed at the youngest members. Mayor Alejandro Navarro and the Councilor for Education, Welfare, and Immigration, Rubén Martínez, visited the Colevacaciones, Campamento Parque Europa 2025, Campamento Náutico in Asturias, Inglés «Jurassic Camp» Camp, and Digital Camp, in which a total of 5,490 students participate, 15% more than last year, as well as the Summer School Lunch Program, aimed at 200 children from vulnerable families in the city.

This initiative is complemented by Campamento Parque Europa 2025, in which 291 children aged 4 to 13 participate in various activities such as archery, pedal karts, mini quads, boats, trampolines, grass volleyball, bumper balls, as well as dynamic workshops and cultural breakfasts on the train.

«At the City Council of Torrejón, we are very aware of the difficulties that many families face when balancing work and family life during the summer. That’s why every year, we offer different educational and leisure options for the children of our city to enjoy, learn, and be well cared for while their parents work,» highlighted Mayor Alejandro Navarro.
On the other hand, for the twelfth consecutive year, the Summer School Lunch Program has been launched as part of the «Summer with Friends» program, in which nearly 200 children from the most vulnerable families in the city participate until August 29 at the CEIP Ramón y Cajal. This initiative guarantees their food during the closure of school cafeterias in the summer and offers various free recreational and socio-educational activities. This program was a pioneer in the region, with Torrejón de Ardoz being the first city to implement it in the Community of Madrid.
