Forensic experts in the trial against the accused of the massive hit-and-run that occurred at a wedding in Torrejón de Ardoz have ruled out on Wednesday that Micael Da Silva, alias ‘El Portugués’, suffered any type of psychological disorder or consumed drugs at the time of the incident, giving credence to the theory that he was fleeing from the guests out of fear of being attacked.

The trial for the massacre that occurred on November 6, 2022, at a restaurant in Torrejón, featured the appearances of the forensic experts who examined the accused and the victims.

The hit-and-run left four dead and nine seriously injured who still suffer from severe consequences.

During the session, the forensic experts who examined the accused when he was arrested testified that no signs of any disorder or psychological breakdown were observed.

Furthermore, they stated that his account of fleeing out of fear was «coherent» and «fluid.»

During the trial, a jury will have to determine whether to believe the version of the accused, who allegedly caused the hit-and-run while fleeing due to overwhelming fear of the shots fired by attendees.

It is expected that the accused will testify on May 29, once the testimonial and expert evidence is complete.

The prosecutor is seeking 226 years in prison for ‘El Portugués’ for four counts of murder and nine counts of attempted murder.

The prosecution’s lawyers are requesting life imprisonment with possibility of parole due to it being a fatal hit-and-run with multiple victims.

Last Friday, the jury heard testimonies from several eyewitnesses, relatives of the deceased victims.

The accused’s wife stated in the previous session that both she and her children were invited to the celebration and that the groom’s father personally visited their home to extend the invitation.

Her husband attended the event to look after one of their children who had mental health issues, with the witness indicating that a person took a glass from her child at the wedding, sparking the conflict.
