The Torrejón de Ardoz City Council has reported that, over the past few months, the Local Police have arrested three individuals accused of street robbery and prevented two more in homes and one against an elderly person on the street.

In another police intervention in recent months, two off-duty agents prevented the robbery of an elderly person when they observed three individuals approaching a lady suspiciously and trying to steal her wallet from her purse using distraction techniques.
One of the suspects had an outstanding judicial requisition order, while the other two are facing «numerous and different» judicial proceedings awaiting trial, as highlighted by the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council in a statement.

The suspect mugged a pizza delivery person as they left a residence, threatening them with a knife. After the robbery, the victim contacted Local Police and provided a description of the suspect, leading to their interception and arrest in the vicinity of the incident due to the swift action of the agents.
The Local Police of Torrejón de Ardoz also arrested another individual caught red-handed while committing an alleged robbery with force.

The suspect was eventually found hiding in a courtyard in the area and, after attempting to resist, was arrested by the Police who discovered stolen documentation in their possession.
Another intervention involved locating a suspect who stole a young woman’s purse and car keys, where they were apprehended by the Police.

Torrejón Mayor, Alejandro Navarro, emphasized that these interventions underscore the municipality’s commitment to citizen security through the Local Police and highlight the effectiveness in preventing crimes.
He also stressed the importance of citizen collaboration in «preventing robberies and apprehending thieves.»
Similarly, Security Councilor, Alberto Cantalejo, noted that «preventive surveillance measures and the presence of officers on the streets continue to yield results and hinder the actions of criminals.»
