Libertad con medidas cautelares para las cuatro detenidas por malos tratos en guardería

The magistrate in charge of Court of Instruction No. 3 in Torrejón de Ardoz (Madrid) has this afternoon decided to grant freedom to the two employees arrested for abusing babies at a daycare center in the municipality and to two other workers for not reporting the incidents.

The four women, brought before the court this Friday by the State Security Forces and Corps, are initially being investigated for the alleged commission of a crime of degrading treatment, a crime of physical abuse, and, subsidiarily, a crime of habitual abuse.

During the session, the workers have testified after viewing a video that is part of the judicial proceedings.

As precautionary measures, the magistrate has ordered that the four suspects appear to sign at the judicial headquarters on the first of each month, as well as prohibiting them from engaging in any paid or unpaid work related to minors.

The incidents allegedly took place at the Cascanueces nursery school, located at 1 Río Pelayo Street in Torrejón, where several parents filed complaints after viewing a recording made by a student on placement, who alerted to the employee’s behavior.

A total of four arrests have been made for abuse at a daycare center in Torrejón de Ardoz: two of them are the alleged perpetrators of the abuse on the children and two others for failing to prevent crimes.

Buenos Días Madrid spoke with Nanci, one of the mothers of the daycare children, and her testimony is chilling: «We can’t sleep thinking about my daughter’s reactions…from the moment I took her, she had trouble eating.»

After speaking with Telemadrid, Nanci went to the police station to file a report.
