• In the morning of yesterday, due to the rise of the Henares River, water invaded the Loeches M206 road, in the direction of entry to Torrejón de Ardoz, forcing the traffic to be cut off. This situation caused a serious inconvenience to the drivers who use it. In response, the mayor, Alejandro Navarro Prieto, despite the fact that this stretch of road is not in our city, decided to get involved and help other administrations and, above all, the thousands of drivers who circulate through it daily. For this reason, Alejandro Navarro mobilized the necessary personnel (6 cleaning operators, 4 construction workers, 10 Local Police officers, Civil Protection volunteers…) and resources (6 water pumping pumps, 2 trucks with wedges, 2 sweepers, and 6 manual brooms) from the Torrejón de Ardoz City Council to work until they managed, after 10 hours of commendable effort, to open the road towards Torrejón initially in one lane and then in both lanes.
• As an anecdote, a television program initially questioned one of the methods used to remove the water, although it eventually recognized its effectiveness.
